I truly enjoyed every presentation given and learned a lot. There was not much that I didn’t like about the presentations. I liked how each group added visuals and videos to their PowerPoints. When adding pictures and videos it makes the audience more intrigued in what you are talking about. Group one put together an amazing presentation on how to be comfortable with presenting and delivering speeches.  Choosing an engaging topic is very important to keep the listeners engaged in your presentation. Choosing an engaging topic is vital when giving a speech as it captures the audience's attention and enhances their overall experience. A compelling topic piques curiosity, ignites discussion, and makes a lasting impact.             To select an engaging topic, consider the interests and preferences of the audience, current trends, and unique perspectives. Once the topic is decided, becoming comfortable with presenting is crucial. Practice the speech repeatedly, focusing on body langua

Being an active and attentive listener Public speaking is now seen as a crucial life skill that is beneficial in practically every aspect of our daily life. Our communication style reveals a lot about who we are and might affect how others see us.    This is why I think it’s critical to enroll in a public speaking course to develop our communication abilities as well as our confidence. However, many college students find public speaking to be too uncomfortable or challenging, just like I did before. I completely understand; sometimes the mere thought of speaking in front of an audience may make us feel anxious. As a result, the fact that we are enrolling in a course called Introduction to Public Speaking may even make us feel overwhelmed. On Tuesday, May 16th, every one of my classmates was doing presentations, making me realize how important this course is since it is not just about giving speeches in public but also providing us with the right tools in order to be able to express our

Naymaris Rodriguez   Hi guys: To tell the truth, I enjoyed all the presentations of the groups, but there is one that caught my attention and aroused my interest. It is about the presentation made about chapter 11: “Presenting Persuasive Message”. More than anything, I think it was because the subject fascinates me. Persuasion is an art, a strategy, because the goal is to convince a group of people about something without imposing. In other words, It is trying to convince an audience with your speech and at the same time find the way that the audience accepted what you said. Basically, there are three elements of persuasions.  Ethos.  Start your talk by establishing your credibility and character. Show your audience that you are committed to the welfare of others, and you will gain their trust. Logos.  Use data, evidence, and facts to support your pitch. Pathos.  People are moved to action by how a speaker makes them feel. Wrap your big idea in a story that will elicit an emotional r

I enjoyed every presentation, there was not one presentation I did not like. There was a lot of different information given and everyone learned something. I liked how each group used pictures and videos in between their presentations.  Images allow viewers to experience emotions that words cannot and give speakers a way to engage their audience more viscerally. On how to feel at ease when giving presentations and speeches, Group 1 created an outstanding presentation.  It's crucial to pick a topic that will keep your audience interested in what you have to say. Your audience will respond to you better and find your speech more engaging if you are passionate about the subject.       Consider the demographics, interests, culture, and level of subject expertise of your audience when selecting a topic to present. Consider what will interest and be of interest to others so they won't be bored or perplexed during your presentation. I liked the way Group 1 presented and the videos

Alanis Rivera The Presentations that took place on Tuesday May 16th, were very well done. Every group was very prepared and presented everything very well. I enjoyed all the presentations as they were also very well informed and detailed. Considering the fact that this was everyone's first presentations, even though some were nervous I feel that they all took their time while presenting and followed the professors instructions when it came to adding the fewest words possible to the powerpoints!  Just like most of my classmates, I was also very nervous. This is the only class that I've been avoiding since I've always struggled with speaking in front of an audience. I decided to take this course online to make it a little more comfortable for myself when speaking to others since I'll be behind a camera. After having this first presentation, I honestly feel less nervous, It's actually more exciting and interesting than i thought it would be. YES it's very scary si

Name: Migdony Romero  Date: 5/22/2023 Blog Post #1     When you make a speech during class time, it is interesting how I learn how to make a proper speech, and there are many different ways to present it. I like to learn and study more about all the different types of speeches and how to be better at delivering a speech. I know that speech is a challenging thing for me because sometimes I do feel occasionally nervous when I start my presentation and make a speech. Sometimes I could mess up a word or need help remembering what to say. It happened when I wrote something too many words on my PowerPoint or paper. It could affect my memories, and I can rehearse my speech and read my PowerPoint or paper multiple times, but it can be too much to remember or cramp too much information in my brain. Luckily I just learned something very interesting about speeches, the type of special occasion presentations, ways to improve my speech, and most importantly, to impress my audience.        So on Ma

The presenters and their PowerPoint were great. I would say everyone great for being the first time we presented during this course. Each of them had their own unique ways to present and had different slides on each PowerPoint. Whether they took hours or minutes to create their PowerPoint it was amazing. We had 12 chapters + Appendix to cover and read and present it. Each chapter had about 3-2 people to learn the information and come up with slides to add to their group presentation. I truly believe everyone did such an outstanding job. The way everyone went in depth with their slides and had the right information to present it. Even if they were nervous, they did awesome job.                The professor had requirements for how to present and the outline of the PowerPoint. What I’ll say is that everyone did what she expected us to do. Every PowerPoint was different there was never a PowerPoint with the same outline. They had different colors, graph, outline but nev
